Police track Massachusetts stolen vehicle suspect to Target in South Windsor

SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. (WFSB) - A Massachusetts man wanted for being behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle was tracked by South Windsor police to the Target in town.
The suspect, whom they identified as 25-year-old Roger Czupryna of Longmeadow, MA, was also found to have a dozen stolen debit cards on him, police said.
South Windsor police said they responded to a license plate reader report that a stolen vehicle had entered their town from East Windsor on Wednesday just before 9:30 a.m.
They said they spotted the driver driving recklessly on Sullivan Avenue. They watched him go through a red light at Sullivan and Troy Road.
Officers lost sight of him after that. However, they received another license plate reader alert that the vehicle was spotted headed toward Target from Buckland Road.
They said they found it in the corner of the Target parking lot and boxed it in. It was unoccupied at the time.
Surveillance cameras in the area were able to provide them with a description of the suspect.
They said they found him inside the store.
They were able to identify him as Czupryna at that point.
Police said a search of the stolen vehicle led to the discovery of money from a burglary in Massachusetts, stolen tools from another burglary in Connecticut, and 12 stolen debit cards from several other burglaries in Massachusetts.
Czupryna was arrested and charged with reckless driving, violation of a traffic control signal, larceny of a motor vehicle, two counts of fifth-degree larceny, two counts of sixth-degree larceny, 12 counts of illegal theft of payment cards, and interfering with an officer.
He was held on a $250,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Thursday.
