Progress on Memorial Avenue paving

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - The next phase of the paving work on Memorial Avenue has begun in West Springfield.
Mayor Will Reichelt said on social media that this next step covers the area between Baldwin and Union streets.
Crews have gotten down to the base of the roadway so they can rebuild and level the surface for the new road.
Curbing, drainage, and other infrastructure improvements are still ongoing but Reichelt says the project is on track to be fully paved before The Big E this fall.
He also thanks everyone for their patience during this work.
