Search resumes for body in Connecticut River in South Hadley

SOUTH HADLEY, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Crews returned to the Connecticut River in South Hadley Wednesday morning to continue their search for the body of a man, who we’re now told fell from the Muller Bridge.
Law enforcement officials report that a state trooper, who was on their way to work, noticed a man on the bridge Tuesday afternoon. They said authorities had received word to be on alert about a man who was despondent in the area.
We’re also told the trooper tried to communicate with that man before he fell into the river.
The Muller Bridge reopened Tuesday night just before 6 p.m. after being closed for several hours.
