SOUTH DEERFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -- With Christmas only days away, Yankee Candle Village in South Deerfield may be one local spot where you can have fun and get some last-minute shopping done, all in the same place.

The store features massive model sets, a 30-foot-tall lit Christmas tree, a nutcracker in Santa’s castle, a cliffside waterfall, and animatronic reindeer displays. “We had a couple families in here last week that said they feel like you could take this store and plop it in the middle of Disney World and it would work,” said Wade Bassett, sales director at Yankee Candle Village.

Despite its name, the emporium offers merchandise beyond candles for holiday shoppers. The store includes a home section with marinades, barbecue items, tabletop items and dishware. “Really, we have something here for every person in your family, and we’re still well-stocked,” Bassett added.

For candle shoppers, the store launched a new candle product in July featuring a new label, more fragrance throw, and premium plant-based wax. The store also carries a YC Collection line of premium candles that come in boxes with white, dye-free wax.

Bassett said the store hosts more than 40 events annually, including activities during February and April school vacations. “Our mission is to, when guests come to the store, they come in happy. Our goal is to make them leave happier,” Bassett explained.
