SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - If you’re planning to spend any time outside this weekend, it may not be at the Camp Wilder beach area in Springfield.

The city said it has been closed temporarily after bacteria was found to be over the permitted levels during routine testing. No swimming is allowed until further notice.

Both the beach area and the water are closed. Officials said the water will be retested on Monday.
