Springfield street paving operations begin with funding acceptance

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) -- When it comes to updates, most northeastern roads can use one at this time of year. Mayor Domenic Sarno says Springfield’s street paving season is about to get under way, thanks to a fresh round of state road money.
The city is slated to receive $5M in Chapter 90 funds for public roadway paving.
Mayor Sarno will ask the City Council to formally accept Springfield’s annual allotment at its next meeting on April 7th, clearing the way for DPW crews to start street construction and paving operations.
