SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - The Springfield Water and Sewer Commission wants residents to know that water tested on December thirds exceeded the maximum contaminant level for a disinfection byproduct in drinking water, but the overage is not an immediate health hazard.
The commission is continuing to monitor water contaminant levels and treat affected areas.
They added that if the overage was harmful, residents would have been informed within 24 hours.
