State expands no-cost early literacy tutoring to dozens of more schools

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - The Healey-Driscoll Administration is working to improve reading skills in the Bay State.

It’s expanding its no-cost early literacy tutoring to 84 more elementary schools, bringing the total of participating schools up to 356 schools statewide. They will be receiving grants to fund free, high-dosage tutoring.

It will be offered in-person and virtually and will be designed to fit schools’ needs. The tutoring will also be available during and after the school day.

Among the 84 new schools are the following Western Massachusetts schools:
