Suspect accused of assaulting several Holyoke police officers

HOLYOKE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -- A man was arraigned Wednesday after allegedly assaulting several police officers.
Stefan Stauber appeared in Holyoke District Court Wednesday. Holyoke Police Chief Brian Keenan said Holyoke police officers responded to Chestnut Street Tuesday night after receiving a report that someone had been assaulted.
When officers got to the scene, they were met by the suspect. According to Keenan, five people, including three Holyoke police officers, were allegedly assaulted by Stauber. Two of the officers went to the hospital, but are expected to be okay.
Keenan confirmed one charge Stauber, who being held without the right to bail, is facing is strangulation and his next court date is set for February 4.
