The City of Springfield celebrates 100 years of hockey

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) -- Hockey fans rejoice! Saturday marked 100 years of hockey in the City of Springfield.
In celebration, fans from far and wide gathered at the Eastern States Exposition for the annual ‘Hockeyday’ event.
Beginning at the Coliseum in 1926, hockey in the City of Springfield has come a long way. Past players for the thunderbirds and the bruins were in attendance this year at the event.
In addition, there were silent and bag auctions, exclusive Springfield Hockey merchandise, multiple jersey and equipment displays, and so much more.
