WARE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – Two suspects have been arrested after a search warrant was executed on a Ware apartment.
Ware Police said a search warrant was executed at an Otis Avenue apartment Wednesday afternoon. The warrant, they explained, was aimed at recovering stolen property that was believed to be in the apartment.
When officers entered, they were reportedly confronted by 26-year-old Jacob Alisauskas of Ware, who was hiding in a bedroom and then moved towards police brandishing a knife. After de-escalating the situation, Alisauskas was arrested on charges including breaking and entering in the nighttime for a felony, conspiracy, possession of a Class B drug, possession of ammunition without an FID card, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of a burglarious instrument, and receiving stolen property over $1,200.
Andrew Contonio was also arrested during the search on charges of possession of a Class B drug, breaking and entering of a building in the daytime for a felony, breaking into a depository, larceny from a building, possession of burglarious instruments, and breaking and entering of a building in the nighttime for a felony.
Alisauskas was held without bail, while bail for Contonio was set at $1,000. Arraignments are scheduled for Thursday in Eastern Hampshire District Court in Belchertown.
Ware Police added that investigators determined that both suspects are allegedly linked to two other open breaking and entering, larceny, and shoplifting cases. They noted that additional charges will be forthcoming.
