STURBRIDGE, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Two people were rushed to the hospital after they were thrown out of their car in a crash in Sturbridge on Sunday.

Crews responded to the scene on I-81 Westbound near Exit 5 just before two a.m. early Sunday morning. Both involved sustained serious injuries and were brought to the UMass hospital to be seen in the critical care unit.

Neither the identities of the two involved nor the details surrounding the cause of the crash have been released at this time.

The crash remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police.
