Victim in deadly Springfield shooting identified

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – Investigators have released the identity of a man who was shot and killed late last week in Springfield.
Payton North, spokesperson for the Hampden District Attorney’s Office, said Springfield Police were called to the 100 block of Lebanon Street for a ShotSpotter activation around 11:30 p.m. Friday. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim, identified Tuesday as 18-year-old Alexander Pulinario of Springfield, was taken to Baystate Medical Center where he died from his injuries Saturday morning. Another man, who was also shot, was taken by private vehicle to Baystate Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The case remains under investigation by the Springfield Police homicide unit, in conjunction with the D.A.’s murder unit. Anyone with information is asked to call Springfield Police at 413-787-6355 or ‘Text-A-Tip’ to CRIMES (274637) and in the message, type SOLVE and the tip.
