Westfield man sentenced in deadly South Hadley overdose case
NORTHAMPTON, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - A Westfield man has been sentenced in connection with a deadly overdose in South Hadley.
Christopher Halla, 43, was given five to seven years in state prison after a jury convicted him of manslaughter and tampering with evidence.
Prosecutors said Halla sold a deadly synthetic opioid to 57-year-old PJ Susan Goldenberg, who died in May 2024. He also told a friend to get rid of his remaining drugs after learning of her death.
The sentence will be followed by two years of probation.
Halla still faces a separate indictment in Franklin County Superior Court for another drug-related offense.
