Woman struck, killed by vehicle in Ware parking lot

WARE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – A woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle Friday in a Ware parking lot.
Melissa Sippel, spokesperson for the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, said that a 73-year-old West Brookfield woman got out of a vehicle. that was also occupied by her 79-year-old husband, at Walmart on Palmer Road. “Shortly thereafter, the vehicle was put in reverse and struck her,” she explained.
The woman, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The medical examiner’s office will determine the cause of death, but investigators believe, at this time, that no foul play is suspected.
The incident remains under investigation by Ware Police and State Police detectives assigned to the D.A.’s office.
