AMHERST, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - It’s no doubt that the Amherst Firefighters had their hands full this past weekend after the fire at Olympia place apartments.

While those impacted by that fire are getting help they need, it’s important to remember that those fire crews need some care too, especially after responding to such a devastating scene.

To help them recover emotionally from that demanding response, the folks over at Boonefield Labradors brought some future comfort dogs in to help.

Boonefield breeds assistance dogs to help members of First Responders, schools, and other facilities who need comfort and service dogs.

According to the Amherst Fire Department, they’re in the process of getting their own comfort and service dog from Boonefield.

As for these pups, their next stop will be UMass Amherst next week to help those students impacted by the fire.
