Handgun seized during traffic stop in Chicopee

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - An illegally owned handgun seized following a traffic stop in Chicopee.
Just after 9 p.m. Monday night, a police stopped a driver on Chicopee Street after spotting a car with an expired inspection sticker.
Officers learned that the driver, 28-year-old Romario Roberts, had an arrest warrant out of Holyoke and a suspended license and began to arrest him.
While he was being patted down, Roberts told them he had a gun on him, but since he had no license to carry it was seized.
He’s now facing both gun and motor vehicle charges.
