LIVE : Over 50 people arrested following child exploitation investigation

FRAMINGHAM, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – Authorities are expected to release details on an extensive operation aimed at combatting child exploitation.

Mass. State Police said that, over three days last week, Operation Firewall was executed in several communities statewide and, as a result, more than 50 people were arrested for allegedly engaging in the possession, production, and sharing of child sexual abuse material, as well as child enticement and other alleged illegal activity.

Those expected to be in attendance at Monday’s announcement include Berkshire County District Attorney Timothy Shugrue and Northwestern District Attorney David Sullivan, as well as the Worcester County and Cape and Island’s D.A.’s and State Police Supt. Col. Geoffrey Noble.
