A Lynn man was charged on Friday in connection with an attack and robbery that occurred at a convenience store on Halloween night.

Joshua Mora, 22, is charged with one count of armed robbery, three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, one count of malicious destruction of property under $1,200 and one count of armed assault and battery to intimidate with bodily injury, the Lynn Police Department said in a statement.

Mora is accused of “severely” attacking a store clerk at the Richdale Convenience Store located at 453 Chatham St. and stealing items, police said. The clerk was driven to the hospital with significant injuries.

Richdale’s owner told WCVB that the worker suffered a broken leg, a broken nose and a broken jaw from the attack.

Detectives identified Mora as the suspect following an investigation and arrested him on Friday, according to the department’s statement.

Lynn’s Ward 2 City Councilor Obed Matul acknowledged the department’s work by saying in a Facebook post, “Thank you Lynn Police Department for an outstanding job.”
