Springfield police have arrested a man in connection with a deadly shooting on Main Street on July 12, according to a press release from the Springfield Police Department.

Springfield police responded to a report of a gunshot victim at around 11:20 p.m. on July 12 on the 2700 block of Main Street. They found 35-year-old Webstern Grant-Stovall and took him to Baystate Medical Center where he died due to his injuries, according to police.

Police identified 21-year-old Lauvanghte Atkins of Springfield as a suspect and got a warrant for his arrest. He was also being looked at by police for a separate illegal firearms investigation, according to police.
