SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - A Federal Appeals Court has ruled The Trump Administration must pay full food stamp benefits for tens of millions of Americans in November.

It’s the latest ruling in the administration’s effort to provide only partial funding for food stamps, or SNAP Benefits.

With so much happening over the last few days, we’re going to break it all down for you.

On Thursday, a U.S. District Judge ordered funding for full November snap benefits be released by the end of Friday.

Then come Friday, The Trump Administration pressed the appeals court to scrap that order.

When the Appeals Court declined, the administration asked the Supreme Court to intervene.

Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson agreed to temporarily pause the order, and on Saturday the USDA told states to only proceed with partial payments or 65 percent of the maximum allotments for November.

On Sunday, an Appeals Court ruling set up another round of legal wrangling before the Supreme Court.

Governor Maura Healey addressed the back and forth on Monday, while offering guidance to Bay Staters saying, “My message to every snap recipient out there is this - forget the noise that you’re hearing from Donald Trump, forget the noise about further appeals to the supreme court. I want you to know, because of the actions that we took, your snap benefits have been restored to your cards. go out and buy the food you need to feed your family.”

On Sunday night, the Senate advanced a bipartisan agreement to fund the government through the end of January.
