More than 270 TSA officers at Logan Airport in Boston will receive a $10,000 bonus after working throughout the government shutdown without collecting paychecks.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced on Sunday afternoon on social media.

Noem said that the TSA officers did not miss a shift despite not receiving a paycheck during the record 43-day government shutdown.

The bonuses are for going “above and beyond to serve their fellow Americans during the shutdown,” Noem said in a statement.

Last month, Boston Logan and other airports did not play a video by Noem blaming the federal shutdown on congressional Democrats.

The video, first reported by Fox News, features Noem, who oversees the U.S. Transportation Security Administration, observing that “most of our TSA employees are working without pay.”

“It is TSA’s top priority to make sure that you have the most pleasant and efficient airport experience possible while we keep you safe,” Noem said in the clip. “However, Democrats in Congress refuse to fund the federal government, and because of this, many of our operations are impacted and most of our TSA employees are working without pay."
