Can Patriots fix their defensive red zone woes?

FOXBOROUGH - The Patriots own the worst red zone defense in the league.
That’s not the type of distinction they’re looking for.
On Sunday, the Atlanta Falcons had three trips inside the red zone and scored three touchdowns.
Following the 24-23 win over the Falcons, Patriots coach Mike Vrabel identified it as an issue that needed to be addressed.
On the year, the Patriots have allowed 15 touchdowns in 20 opponent trips inside the red zone (75%) which is dead last in the NFL.
Patriots acting defensive coordinator and play caller Zak Kuhr, meanwhile, mapped out how the problem was going to be addressed.
“We just gotta be cleaner, cleaner in our execution,” Kuhr said during his media availability Thursday. “We need to be a little more on the same page with some stuff. As far as the coaching staff, we need to find different answers.”
Kuhr explained that the history of their scheme has been successful in the past.
“There’s a lot of tape of it out there,” he said, “so we have to be able to make some adjustments now because people are adjusting to what we do.”
Opposing teams have worked to find favorable matchups, trying to make it so Christian Gonzalez can’t cover the top gun. The Falcons were able to re-arrange the coverage, pitting Marcus Jones against Drake London instead of Gonzalez.
While Jones is as competitive as they come, the 6-4 London held a huge height advantage on the Patriots slot corner in the red zone, and was able to haul in what amounted to a couple of jump ball touchdowns.
Kuhr said it was a matter of the corners communicating, staying on their man, and not getting picked.
