CHICOPEE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Continuing with our Friday Night Frenzy coverage, a high school in Chicopee just finished up an undefeated season and now will be heading down to Wrentham to take on another undefeated squad.

Chicopee Comprehensive High School sent off their team in style. Thanks in part to a group of parents, who recruited the Chicopee Fire Department, and even Mayor John Vieau dropped by to speak to the team. The Colts are headed to their first state tournament appearance in ten years, boasting an 8-0 record including key wins against Hopkinton, Agawam, and Amherst.

Western Mass News caught up with head coach Graham Raymond, to talk about his team’s success this season, “We’re really proud, we’ve had a great season, we’ve got a great group of leadership and seniors this year, and we’re just so excited to go play in the first round of the playoffs.”

The Colts are slated to take on the 1-seed of King Phillip Regional High School in the first round of the division 3 state playoffs.
