The Cowboys wanted to trade Micah Parsons and they didn’t not want to face him twice a year.

So Dallas put a creative clause, a poison pill, into trade language when they dealt him to Green Bay.

According to The Athletic, who quoted a team source, said: “If the Packers were to trade Parsons to an NFC East team, Green Bay would have to give the Cowboys its 2028 first-round pick. The poison pill conditions apply to this season and 2026."

The concept works in reverse, too. The Cowboys would have to surrender their No. 1 pick if they trade former Packer Kenny Clark to the NFC North.

Parsons ended up signing a four-year, $188 million extension with the Packers that includes $136 million fully guaranteed.
