The Northampton Post 28 Legion baseball team fell victim to a hot pitcher in its 6-0 loss to East Springfield Post 420 at Arcanum Field in Florence on Monday.

Post 420’s Aiden Archeval gave up just one hit and fanned 12 Northampton batters in the sparkling six-inning outing.

Matt Walko and James Lavalle poked hits for Post 28, which fell to 2-2 on the season.

Northampton will play Sheffield Post 340 at War Memorial Field on Wednesday at 5:45 p.m.

Friday results

Northampton Post 28 11, Aldenville Post 337 3 — Andrew Gagne kept Aldenville’s bats at bay, taking the win on the bump for Post 28 at Szot Park.

Gagne struck out seven, walked five and allowed three runs in five innings of work.

Aiden Keeling-Lococo and Carter Styspeck each smashed two hits and recorded two RBIs in Northampton’s second win of the season.
