BOSTON — Alex Steeves’ first goal as a Bruin came against his former Toronto Maple Leafs team.

The Bruins forward made it a 3-1 game with 2:37 left in the first period when he beat Anthony Stolarz after a strong offensive shit from Boston.

Steeves signed with the Bruins as a free agent on July 1. The 25-year-old was born in Minnesota and lives there during the offseason, but spent a chunk of his childhood in New Hampshire.

The Maple Leafs signed Steeves to a three-year entry-level contract in 2021 and the forward made his debut that December. He’s spent a majority of his career in the AHL with the Marlies.

Steeves enjoyed his best AHL season last year with 36 goals in 59 games.

Boston called up Steeves after it placed Elias Lindholm on injured reserve with a lower-body injury.
