Jonah Sommers and Agho Mankin each pelted three hits in the Amherst Hurricanes’ 16-9 win over the Chicopee Tigers in a Western Mass Suburban Baseball League Koufax Division game at Amherst Regional Middle School on Sunday.

Sommers and Mankin combined for three RBIs for the ‘Canes, who improved to 2-0 on the season with the victory. Omar Saadouni also provided a pair of base knocks for Amherst.

On the mound, Ian Kim threw four serviceable innings for the Hurricanes while tallying six strikeouts.

Amherst returns to the diamond on Wednesday, May 6 for a showdown with first-place Northampton.

First pitch at Florence Field is set for 5:45 p.m.
