Youth baseball: Northampton blasts Brattleboro Maroon behind Dylan Lawrence-Riddell’s seven strikeouts

Dylan Lawrence-Riddell paced the Northampton youth baseball team in its 12-1 win against Brattleboro Maroon in PVYBL Koufax division action on Monday at Tenney Field.
The hurler earned the win for Northampton, surrendering two hits and one run over 5 2/3 innings, while striking out seven. Miles Cameron appeared in relief and closed out the contest for Northampton.
Maceo Nteta and Elliott Frankl each had two RBIs for Northampton while Bradyn Rios went 2-for-3 at the plate, with a triple as the highlight of the pair of base knocks.
Northampton played a clean game in the field as it did not commit a single error.
Amherst 13, Turners Falls 5 — The Hurricanes claimed their third straight PVYBL Koufax regular-season title after the victory over the Thunder.
Amherst plunked nine hits, plus benefitted from 11 walks issued by the Turners pitchers. The Hurricanes plated eight runs by the fourth inning.
Gus Garrett Peltier starred for the Hurricanes, going 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored while Oliver Howard had three RBIs.
Cyrus Arwade allowed no earned runs (three unearned) over 4 2/3 innings to get the win on the mound. Nick Stinson finished up with 1 1/3 innings of work for Amherst.
