A Pleasant Afternoon on the way for Wednesday

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Today, another nice day with a mix of sun and clouds. Highs today should also range a few degrees milder than Tuesday. Many of us range in the lower and middle 50’s for the valley. Middle and upper 40’s for the hills, all with a light breeze.
Tonight, low pressure passes to our north, and we will see building clouds. Because of extra cloud cover, we’ll remain milder tonight with lows falling into the middle and upper 30’s. We’ll also see a few light spotty showers by tomorrow morning.
Thursday starts off damp with spotty showers early, then we dry out. A warm front swings to the north and brings in milder air with highs ranging in the 60’s. We’ll also see some sun in the middle of the day too.
A cold front starts to move down from the north Thursday night. This brings a period of soaking rain Thursday night into Friday morning. Perhaps ending briefly as a rain/snow mix early Friday, as the cooler air rushes in. We’ll see anywhere from a half inch to an inch of rain, so a good soaking.
Then Friday, we are gradually drying out. It remains mostly cloudy and breezy. Chilly too, with highs topping off in the 40’s now that we have that cooler airmass building in behind our front.
This weekend is looking dry. Sun and clouds both on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday looking a bit chillier, with highs in the upper 30’s to around 40°. Sunday we’ll see highs closer to 50°.
Next week is trending unsettled with several chances for showers.
