SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - It was a cold start to the day as many of us started off in the 20’s. This is an example of why it’s too early to be planting most things as we move into Spring. You’ll need to wait a little longer.

Today, we remain chilly with highs ranging in the upper 40’s to near 50°. We’ll see a lot of clouds and some sun. A weak disturbance passes to our north this afternoon, which could bring a stray sprinkle or flurry.

If you’re heading out to Boston for the 130th Boston Marathon, temperatures will range in the upper 40’s to around 50°. A light breeze out of the west. Good running weather, but if you’re going as a spectator, you’ll need to layer up.

Tonight, back here in Western Mass, we’re partly cloudy and cold with lows falling back into the 20’s. So, another night below freezing. Perhaps a little frosty by tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow, sun and clouds with highs in the lower to middle 50’s.

Wednesday, weak low pressure passes to our south, and this brings a lot of clouds and a few off and on showers or flurries. Not a washout, and mainly cloudy.

Then we have much nicer days setting up for Thursday and Friday. We’ll see partly to mostly sunny skies with highs ranging in the low to mid-60’s. Which is exactly where it should be this time of year.

This weekend, we’ll see a lot of clouds and some sun. Highs in the 50’s and low 60’s. Chance for a few showers late Saturday into early Sunday.
