Cool & Less Rainy Friday, Big Improvements for the Weekend

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - We started off cool with partial clearing this morning, but low pressure still lingers and is slow to move out. This means clouds, and cooler weather linger around for today.
We’ll also see a couple hit or miss showers today, very spotty in nature. Otherwise, it remains mostly cloudy and cool with highs in the upper 50’s and lower 60’s.
As low pressure slowly moves out, we’ll see some clearing as we get into the evening. In fact, with the sun going down after 8pm, we’ll see some sunshine working in towards the end of the day.
Tonight, we’ll maintain mostly clear skies and it’s cool with lows falling into the 40’s.
Then, we have a pattern shift to a drier and warmer pattern. This is as a ridge of high pressure builds in over the Eastern U.S.
Starting this weekend, we’re back to sunshine and high temperatures ranging well into the 70’s and 80’s. A falling apart cold front passes through late Saturday, bringing the chance for a quick passing shower, though most of the moisture dries up.
This pattern looks to stick around into next week with summer-like temperatures. We’ll turn Hot and humid around mid-week, flirting with the 90’s.
