SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - It was another cold start to our day today as many of us woke up in the 20’s. This after we had clear skies and calm winds overnight, which allowed us to cool efficiently.

Today, we’ll have a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the lower to middle 50’s for the valley, highs in the middle and upper 40’s for the hills.

Tonight, we’re partly cloudy to start with more clouds building in closer to sunrise. Lows fall into the 30’s. Low pressure passing to our south will bring a few light rain and snow showers late tonight, closer to tomorrow morning.

Light rain and snow showers are expected to last into the early morning, which could slow things down, but we are not expecting heavy precipitation or accumulation from any snow.

In the hills and Franklin County, we would just see scattered coatings to perhaps an inch, mainly on grassy surfaces. Locations over 2,000′ in elevation could pick up a little more. Otherwise, for most in the valley, we’d see a chilly rain with a few snowflakes mixed in.

The remainder of the day Wednesday, once the steadier precip. comes to an end, we’ll be left with overcast skies and a few spotty hit or miss showers. It remains cool tomorrow as highs only range in the upper 40’s and low-50’s.

Then we have much nicer days setting up for Thursday and Friday. We’ll see partly to mostly sunny skies with highs ranging in the low to mid-60’s. Which is exactly where it should be this time of year. This weekend, we’ll see a lot of clouds and some sun. Highs in the 50’s and low 60’s.

Chance for a few showers passing to the south late Saturday into early Sunday.
