Damp, Chilly & Cloudy to Start the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Following a damp end to the weekend, we start this week, also damp.
Steady rain in the early morning, with some snowflakes mixing in, comes to an end by mid-morning. Then the remainder of the day features cloudy skies with a few sprinkles or stray flurries. Unsettled and chilly. Highs today not moving from where we began. Temperatures ranging in the middle to upper 30’s for the valley. Lower to middle 30’s in the hills.
This is as a stationary front is set up to our south and east. As this front very slowly moves away, we will see slow improvement.
Tonight, skies gradually clear and it’s cold with lows ranging in the middle and upper 20’s.
Tomorrow will be a much nicer day. Highs ranging between 45-50° with partly to mostly sunny skies and a light breeze.
Wednesday, more clouds around but we are dry for the majority of the day. Breezy with highs ranging in the upper 40’s and lower 50’s. Wednesday night, a few showers around.
Thursday we are mostly cloudy, but dry. Mild too, with highs around 55-60°. A cold front comes down from the north will bring another round of rain late Thursday night and into Friday morning. Breezy at times with a steady soaking rain. Mostly during the overnight, but we can expect at least a wet start to Friday.
Then as the day goes on Friday, once we get behind that cold front, conditions slowly improve, and we dry out. It will also be cooler and breeze with highs ranging in the upper 40’s and lower 50’s.
Right now, the weekend is looking dry and seasonable with highs ranging in the 40’s. A mix of sun and clouds both days.
