Mainly Cloudy & Cooler for Thursday

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - We finally have a break in the heat after a cold front came through yesterday.
Today, we’re mostly cloudy with rain mostly to our south, aside from a few sprinkles and stray rain drops in the morning. This, is as our cold front lingers to our south with low pressure forming along it. Highs are much cooler, ranging in the middle and upper 60’s to near 70°.
Tonight, clouds gradually clear out with lows falling into the low and mid-40’s. While this will feel chilly, this is closer to an average night in May. Our average overnight low this time of year is about 48° in Springfield.
Friday, the nicest day of the whole week. We’ll see high and mid-level clouds with more sun. It’s nice otherwise with highs in the upper 60’s to around 70° with low humidity.
Memorial Day weekend right now looks unsettled and cool.
Saturday, clouds build but rain looks to hold off. Most of Saturday is dry, cloudy and cool with highs in the middle 60’s. It wouldn’t be until the end of the day, around sunset, where rain begins.
Sunday is looking the rainiest. Periods of rain all day, it’s light to steady with most of Western Mass picking up a half inch to an inch of beneficial rain.
By Memorial Day itself, most, if not all the rain is over. So, Monday is mainly dry, mostly cloudy with highs in the upper 60’s to around 70°.
Then next week, we’re mainly sunny with some clouds mixed in, and pleasant temperatures. Ranging in the 70’s and 80’s most of next week.
