SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - After a very nice day yesterday, we continue this trending of improving weather.

Today, we start off chilly, but not as cold as the last few mornings. Then this afternoon, as we’re still under the influence of high pressure, we have another gorgeous day on the day. We’re mostly sunny with highs ranging in the 60’s to near 70°.

It’s also breezy with winds out of the south gusting between 20-30 mph, so again, like yesterday, we do have an elevated risk for brush fires to spread easily.

A weak cold front will come through tonight, bringing a few brief showers around midnight, and it will also knock down our temperatures too heading into the weekend, but only by a little.

Rain is over before the sun rises on Saturday, then the rest of the day is mostly sunny, cooler and breezy. Highs range in the upper 50’s to near 60° with winds gusting to 20-30 mph at times.

Sunday, we start with sunshine in the morning, then clouds increase throughout the day as a warm front approaches. We’ll have a lighter breeze with highs ranging in the upper 50’s to near 60°. Sunday night, a few light showers around with the passage of that warm front.

We’ll start next week off dry and warm. Monday is partly sunny with highs near 70°. We remain warm through most of the week. Highs ranging in the 70’s, possibly near 80° with a few shower and storm chances.
