SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Have the umbrella today as we expect periods of rain today. This is as low pressure is still influencing our weather.

Today, we’ll see periods of rain at varying rates of intensity basically all day long. At times, a steadier rain with perhaps a downpour or rumble of thunder, at other times it’s light rain or drizzle. Otherwise, cloudy, cool and damp. Highs today only range in the upper 50’s and lower 60’s.

Tonight, we’re still overcast with some leftover spotty showers. Lows fall to either side of 50°.

Low pressure lingers and is slow to move out, so clouds, rain and cooler weather linger into Friday. Any leftover showers Friday would be very spotty in nature, off and on. Many hours it is not raining. Highs in the upper 50’s to around 60°.

Then, we have a pattern shift to a drier and warmer pattern. Starting this weekend, we’re back to sunshine and high temperatures ranging well into the 70’s and 80’s.

This pattern looks to stick around into next week with summer-like temperatures.
