Spotty Showers, Cool & Breezy Wednesday

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Hopefully you were able to enjoy the nice weather we had yesterday, because we go downhill from here.
Low pressure passing through the region will bring showers starting this morning, keeping us unsettled through Friday.
We’ll have showers off and on throughout the day today, but it’s not a washout. When it’s not raining, it’s cloudy, breezy and damp. It’s also cool as lows are stuck in the middle and upper 50’s and lower 60’s.
Tonight, we remain overcast, with lows falling into the upper 40’s and lower 50’s. A period of rain moving in closer to sunrise Thursday.
Low pressure lingers and is slow to move out, so periods of rain linger into Thursday and Friday. Thursday is likely the rainest, with a conveyer belt of moisture in the first half of Thursday. This is where we would pick up the majority of our rain over this unsettled stretch.
A little spottier as we head into Friday especially, but the rain chances are still with us as the low moves offshore. It also remains cool with highs in the low to mid-60’s.
All said and done, we should pick up anywhere from a half inch of rain on the low side, to an inch and a half to two inches on the higher end, depending on where some of the heavier bands of rain set up across Western Mass.
Then we have a pattern shift, to a drier and warmer pattern. Starting this weekend, we’re back to sunshine and high temperatures ranging well into the 70’s and perhaps even into the 80’s.
This pattern looks to stick around even into next week.
