Sunny & Warm to Start the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - After a nice weekend, we continue with a nice start to the week.
Today, it was a chilly start us, but we’ll be taking a run at the lower 70’s this afternoon. We’ll also see wall-to-wall sunshine, with little to no clouds in sight.
Something to keep in mind, with the lack of cloud cover, and a sun angle that is equivalent to mid-August, the UV index today will reach a 7. Meaning you can get a sunburn in as little as 15-25 mins.
Tonight, skies remain mostly clear, and winds are light to calm, so lows will end up falling in the upper 30’s to near 40°.
Tomorrow, we continue with this stretch. We’re mostly sunny to start with clouds increasing as the day goes on. Highs once again range in the upper 60’s to around 70°. A weak system passes to our north, bringing in the extra clouds. We cannot rule out the chance for a hit or miss shower towards the end of the day, but most, if not all the moisture ends up drying up.
Wednesday, we have a bright, sunny start to the day, with clouds increasing as the day goes on. We end up mostly cloudy by the afternoon. Highs range in the upper 60’s.
Low pressure and a cold front approach, bringing periods of rain late Wednesday night and throughout the day Thursday.
Thursday will be a cool, wet, raw day with periods of rain and highs only ranging in the 50’s. We’ll get a soaking rain, likely seeing around a half inch to an inch of rain. Some embedded downpours are possible, but for the most part, a steady rain all day.
We’re back to dry weather to end the week. Friday features a mix of sun and clouds with highs back to around 60°, with a little more wind.
