Warm & Muggy with Late-Day Storms

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - It’s a mild and muggy start to the day as many of us began in the 50’s.
Today, we continue with a July-feel. We’ll see partly to mostly sunny skies for about the first 2/3 of the day. Highs in the lower 80’s and even a little muggy with dew points near 60°.
Then in the afternoon and evening, we run the risk for a few showers and thunderstorms. Some of those storms have the potential to become strong to severe.
This would bring heavy rain, damaging winds, frequent lightning. Window of opportunity for this is between 4-10pm.
Western Mass has been placed under a slight risk for severe weather, a 2 out of 5 on the scale.
Wednesday, much of the same. Sun and clouds, warm and even a little muggy with highs in the lower to middle 80’s. A late-day shower or storm.
Thursday and Friday remain warm. Thursday we could be in the middle 80’s, Friday we’re in the upper 70’s to near 80°. Thursday is dry, Friday, we’re seeing sun and clouds with a late-day shower or storm chance.
The weekend is a few degrees cooler, but still warm. Highs in the middle and upper 60’s to near 70°. Dry Saturday, with a late-day shower or storm Sunday.
Right now, next week is trending cooler with temperatures returning closer to normal for April.
