SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - After a beautiful weekend with sunshine and highs just shy of 60° both Saturday and Sunday, we have a more summer-like pattern setting in for this week.

Today, we start off with mainly cloudy skies and highs ranging in the 40’s. This afternoon, we’re heading for the 70’s. We’ll continue to see a lot of clouds, and some sun. It’s also breezy with winds gusting to 30 mph at times out of the south.

We may run the risk for a hit or miss shower this afternoon and evening, though the majority of the day is dry. In fact, many may not see any wet weather today.

Tonight, we’re partly cloudy and cool with lows falling into the 50’s. Not bad for an April night. Normal overnight lows should range in the middle 30’s.

Tomorrow, we continue with a July-feel. We’ll see partly to mostly sunny skies for about the first 2/3 of the day. Highs around 80° and even a little muggy with dew points near 60°.

Then in the afternoon and evening, we run the risk for a few showers and thunderstorms. Some of those storms have the potential to become strong to severe. This would bring heavy rain, damaging winds, frequent lightning.

Window of opportunity for this is between 4-8pm. Western Mass has been placed under a marginal risk for severe weather, a 1 out of 5 on the scale.

Wednesday, much of the same. Sun and clouds, warm and even a little muggy with highs in the lower 80’s. A late-day shower or storm.

Thursday and Friday remain warm with highs in the upper 70’s to near 80° with a late day shower or storm. Otherwise, sun and clouds.

The weekend is a few degrees cooler, but still warm. Highs in the lower 70’s both days. Dry Saturday, with a late-day shower or storm Sunday.

Right now, next week is trending cooler with temperatures returning closer to normal for April.
