SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Today, we begin a transition to a hotter and more humid pattern to end the week.

Today, we’re partly sunny, warm and muggier, as dew points rise into the 60’s. Temperatures range in the middle 80’s. We’re also dry for the majority of the day with a mix of sun and clouds, though a warm front in the evening may bring a few spotty showers or even some rumbles of thunder.

Thursday and Friday are both First Alert Weather Days.

**A Heat Advisory has been issued for Hampden, Hampshire Franklin and Southern Berkshire County from 12pm Thursday through 8pm Friday**

Thursday and Friday are both hot and humid. Highs range in the lower 90’s with dew points in the upper 60’s and lower 70’s. This brings your feels-like temperatures into the upper 90’s and even around the triple digits. This is dangerous heat.

We’ll have sun and clouds for many hours both days, but enough instability in the atmosphere, to where we’ll likely see some a few isolated thunderstorms fire up in the afternoons. A front late Friday will also fuel some storm development too.

A few storms could be strong to severe. Biggest threat would be west of I-91 both Thursday and Friday.

Right now, the weekend is shaping up nice. Sun and clouds both Saturday and Sunday. Still hot but less humid, following Friday’s cold front, with highs in the upper 80’s to around 90°.

Another cold front comes through late on Sunday break the heat, allowing for some cooler temperatures next week. Perhaps a late day shower or storm late on Sunday. This is followed by more seasonable weather for next week.
